Ingredients

walleye filets

buttermilk

ritz crackers

garlic powder

butter

Directions

put walleye filets into a mixing bowl, and cover with buttermilk. let the filets soak in the buttermilk while you move onto the net step.

in a ziplock bag, add a tube of ritz crackers and about a tablespoon of garlic powder. pound with a mallet to break up the crackers into crumbs. there is no need to add extra seasoning as the crackers are salted to begin with.

place filets into to bag of crumbs and shake well to cover the fish in the crumbs.

for best results, fry the breaded fish in a hot, seasoned  cast iron frying pan with a liberal amount of butter. you can use a regular frying pan but I think its always better to use cast iron for fish. remember to make sure your pan and butter is hot to prevent sticking and to get an even sere. also if your pan is cold, the breading will just absorb the butter and and the cracker crumbs wont stick to the fish.

enjoy!!
